Sync privacy

Your client never needs to know about your dentist

Every sync decides how much detail travels. Block out the time without revealing anything, share just the title, or copy the whole event — per sync, not per account.

  • Busy blocker, title only, or full details
  • Rename the blocker to whatever suits
  • Private and declined events can be skipped entirely
  • We never store the contents of your events

Busy blocker

The safest option and the most common. Only the time is copied — no title, no description, no location, no guests. Anyone looking at the target calendar sees that you are unavailable and nothing else.

  • Call it “Busy”, “Blocked”, “Not available” — your choice
  • Copies are marked private on the target calendar
  • Perfect for mixing work and personal calendars

Title only

You get enough context to recognise the meeting without leaking the agenda, the attendee list or the video link. A good middle ground for calendars you own but colleagues can see.

Full details

For calendars that are entirely yours. Choose individually whether the description, location and attendees come along, so you can copy the join link without copying the guest list.

  • Toggle description, location and attendees separately
  • Meeting links are carried over so you can join from either calendar

What we store

CalSync keeps the mapping between a source event and its copy, plus start and end times, so the next run knows what to update. Titles, notes, attendees and attachments are read at sync time and never written to our database.

  • No event content at rest
  • OAuth tokens are the only credentials we hold, and you can revoke them
  • Self-host and even that stays on your own infrastructure

Good to know

Can my colleagues tell what a blocker is hiding?
No. A busy blocker contains nothing but a time range and the title you chose. There is no hidden field they can inspect — the marker we use to recognise our own copies is stored in a provider-private property that guests cannot see.
What about events I am invited to but declined?
By default declined invitations are skipped, so a meeting you are not attending never blocks your time somewhere else.
